Share This Post

Welcome to our Android App Safe Pop Up Virus removal instructions. They should work on most Android devices.

In case you’ve been affected by the actions of Android App Safe, the following symptoms are likely to sound familiar to you:

  • Webpages covered in ads;
  • Homepage and/or default search engine in browser changed;
  • Device running slower than usual, apps taking longer to load.

If one or more of the above hit home, you’re dealing with a browser hijacker, which, luckily, is nothing serious to worry about. The removal guide provided below will walk you through the process of removing the pesky software and you should be rid of it in no time. However, if you would like to stay clear of programs like the Android App Safe “Virus” in the future, we suggest you spend a minute to read through the following lines. You will learn about the possible risks Android App Safe Pop Up contains, as well as a sure way to avoid getting infected again.

What this is all about

The main purpose of browser hijackers is to flood your browser with various advertisements, positioning them in places that are difficult to navigate past and making them notoriously difficult to close or dispose of. The idea behind this unfair tactic lies within the Pay per click scheme – a famous online business strategy that allows software developers to profit from each click (tap) their ads get. However, this seemingly innocent business model bears certain risks, one of which is the way it customizes its ads to suit the specific user’s personal interests. The hijacker, be it the Android App Safe “Virus” or a different one, monitors your browsing activity and gathers the information in order to produce more popups and banners that would be relevant to you personally. The danger? This information can be and often is sold to 3rd parties, whom you know absolutely nothing about. Seems like the ideal conditions for data misuse to occur.

Another alarming factor, which you might like to consider is that not all of the displayed ads are necessarily real. In some cases they might simply redirect you to another promotional campaign than the one stated on the specific banner or box message, which isn’t fair either, but not by far the worst that can happen. In very rare instances you could be sent to a malicious, virus-ridden website, from which you can get infected by threats far scarier, like ransomware for example. This, however, doesn’t mean that Android App Safe = virus. In fact, it’s pretty legal. So, the best way to avoid getting entangled with it again is to be extra careful with the apps you download. Browser hijackers typically come integrated within other apps, so be sure to gather your intel before installing anything new.
