So, you’ve recently opened the browser on your android smartphone or tablet only to find that the homepage isn’t what it’s supposed to be and your search queries are redirected to a weird page you don’t remember seeing before. In addition to this, you can’t even browse in peace because you are constantly being harassed by a crazy amount of annoying ads. What to do? We have just the thing. In our removal guide we will walk you through the process of uninstalling this program called Battery Damaged Pop-up, which has taken over your browser and is now making you see all this unnecessary content.
“Your battery is badly damaged by 4 Virus“
Battery Damaged Pop-up is a type of browser hijacker – a program, which has been planted on your device with the sole purpose of making you see all those ads in the hopes that you will tap your fingers over as many of them as possible. Why? Because the developers of Battery Damaged Pop-up earn revenue each time this happens. But they’re not only interested in your chance clicks or taps, they still need you to want to click on the ads, because that way you might just end up buying something, too. This is achieved through a little bit of prying on your browsing patterns. Those are actually monitored by the invasive software and then the ads are made to match your most recent searches and other details that may relate to your interests. But, that’s not where the collected information’s story ends. It may, in fact, be continued numerous times, as it is often sold by the developers to third parties. The only problem is that nobody knows who these 3rd parties are and what they intend to use the information for.
Is Battery Damaged Pop-up dangerous then?
Not really. It’s not a virus or anything like that. To be very precise, software of this kind is usually legal and not considered to be much more than a mere annoyance. Nevertheless, there’s another point that might push users towards removing the hijacker. Battery Damaged Pop-up could potentially display ads that might redirect you to malicious websites or get you infected with actual viruses, such as Trojans or ransomware. For this reason we do not recommend interacting with any of the featured ads, no matter how appealing they look. In fact, we strongly advise you against it. Use the below steps to quickly and effectively rid yourself of this nuisance and let us know if you faced any difficulties along the way.
