Welcome to our Fixphonefree Android removal instructions. They should work on most Android devices.
So, you’ve noticed that all of sudden you are being attacked by dozens of annoying ads each time you open your browser on the android phone or tablet you’re using. Furthermore, the pesky pop-ups and banners sometimes cover your entire screen and prove pretty difficult to close, possibly even resulting in you getting redirected to some page you never wanted to see to begin with. We understand your frustration and have therefore developed the following removal guide to help you safely and quickly rid yourself of this issue titled Fixphonefree.pw. But first, let’s briefly discuss what exactly this program represents.
What is Fixphonefree “Virus”?
This is an important question to answer. Most of our readers refer to this problem as Fixphonefree “Virus” , which is not technically accurate. Fixphonefree is a type of browser hijacker, specifically designed for android devices. Its sole purpose is the distribution of those numerous ads we mentioned, but people often tend to confuse it with a virus. It is assuredly not a virus or any type of malware and is incapable of causing any serious damage like Trojans or ransomware, for example. This doesn’t mean, however, that it’s completely harmless and should remain nestled on your device.
Browser hijacker functions based on the Pay per click scheme, which enables each click that lands on a given ad distributed by the software to generate revenue for the developers. It’s a very clever way of making money and it’s been around for a while now; the only thing is: even the best things have their downsides.
The drawbacks:
- Privacy issues. Like with most browser hijackers, Fixphonefree.pw has little concern for your privacy, as it tends to monitor your browsing activity and then gather that data for the sake of producing ad content, which would be tailored to your personal preferences. However, the information could and probably will be sold to 3rd parties, the intents of which neither you nor we have any way of guessing.
- Security risk. Yes, we did stress that it’s not a virus and can’t cause nearly as much damage as one, but it could actually serve as a gateway for the infamous pests. That being said, we strongly advise you against interacting with any of the showcased ads, as there is the possibility of them redirecting you to a malicious website, filled with who knows what kind of horrible pieces of programming. Naturally, you would risk getting infected at any given moment.
With all this in mind, you can see that removing Fixphonefree is the smartest move you could make. In order to avoid installing this or another program like it, we highly recommend researching any app you wish to download before you actually install it on your device. This is because browser hijacker for android devices is unfortunately an inherent part of the apps it comes with, which means you don’t have the option of separating the two prior to installation.
