Welcome to our Android Antivirus Center Pop-up removal instructions. They should work on most Android devices.
This article is aimed at providing its reader with information regarding Android Antivirus Center – an unwanted piece of software that has been reported to invade Android smartphones and tablets. The most common complaints from Android Antivirus Center are that it might try to redirect you without your permission and that it oftentimes displays intrusive pop-ups on the device’s screen which might sometimes cover everything, thus making it impossible to navigate your device without tapping onto the nagging pop-up. Those are typical traits of a Browser Hijacker, which is why we consider Android Antivirus Center to be one. Luckily, getting rid of such unpleasant software is not all that hard, and down below, in our removal guide, we will show you how you can remove and fully get rid of the obnoxious Browser Hijacker without calling for professional support.
Is Android Antivirus Center harmful?
On its own, a typical Hijacker is not a harmful piece of software. Sure, it is annoying and frustrating, but it is still not a malign virus such as a Trojan horse or Ransomware. Hijackers like Android Antivirus Center are mainly used for the purpose of advertising. The issue is that they function in a rather aggressive fashion and also provide little to no value for the unpleasantness that they force the user to put up with. Also, keep in mind that though the Hijacker might not be able to harm your smartphone or tablet, it could potentially expose the device’s system to actual software threats such as the ones mentioned above (Ransomware, Trojans, etc.).
How did it get there?
The main method used for spreading Browser Hijackers among Android users is via different apps that at first sight seem to be okay and it is not until the app is installed that the user realizes they have gotten more than they have bargained for. Usually, such shady apps are rarely distributed in the Google Play Store, which is why we advise you to avoid using third party download sources unless you are absolutely sure that they are reliable. The issue, however, is that sometimes even the Play Store is not absolutely safe. There are a lot of instances when an app that carries the Hijacker has made its way inside the Store and respectively into many Android devices. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you always do some quick research on applications that you want to download but are not sure of how reliable they are.
